With the SynthFont program you have a synthesizer that can play standard midi files using the Sound Fonts. However, that is not all that this software is capable of doing. The program is able to copy how hardware or soundcards that are compatible with the Sound Fonts work. On top of that it is also an interface for the structure of Sound Fonts and there are basic Midi and Sound Font editing functions available.
Many useful features are part of the SynthFont software. There are preset layers of a sound source which correspond to an instrument or Midi program, as well as splits in layer. The Pianoroll feature shows notes and controllers, but also enables midi file editing. The Midi Events is a list of all such events in any particular track and is used for debugging since it enables the user to filter out events and do basic editing such as note changing and program changes.
The user interface of the SynthFont program is well organized and easy to use. The features are all displayed on the one screen and you can choose the functions you want to work with. |
